Although it is moving forward in small steps, projects at the Stephens County refinery continues to make progress.

Duncan Area Economic Development Foundation Business and Industry Specialist Henry Lehr presented a quick refinery update to the Stephens County Commissioners Monday morning.

Lehr said there were some good meetings with the TIF attorney and Green Fuels Operating CEO Derek Williamson and members are coming together.

With no action to take Monday, Lehr said a resolution to appoint a committee for the TIF district will come at a future date.

He said the county board will need to designate one of the commissioners as a representative on the committee. He said there will need to be someone from the Duncan school district, as well as the health department.

The county board also designated a district commissioner to attend the Oklahoma Department of Commerce Workshop – “All In” Sept. 10 at the Simmons Center.

Chairman Todd Churchman said the meeting aligns with the project at the Refinery.

The board voted to send Vice Chairman Kreg Murphree to attend the workshop.
