DAEDF Begins Construction on Spec Building

Spec Building Ground Breaking January 2014
When companies look to expand or relocate, the first thing they look for is available buildings within a geographical location. In fact, 85 percent of the Request for Proposals (RFPs) require available buildings as the first item when looking at new markets. Typically, the building should be less than 15 years old and have eave heights of 28 feet. The size request will vary from project to project; but, the building should be constructed with the possibility of expansion opportunities.
Currently, Duncan has no mid-size buildings to offer companies looking to expand or relocate to the area. This includes buildings that range from 5,000 to 50,000 square feet in size. Available buildings allow economic development organizations, like DAEDF, to wrap a marketing plan around the recruitment of new and growing companies.
WW Builders won the bid to construct a facility that will serve as a shell building. This building will be 21,825 square feet and 28 feet tall. It will have two roll-up doors and two walk-thru doors with minimal electric. Once a tenant occupies the building, the custom completion of floors, offices, electrical, parking, and doors will be done. This shell building should be completed by late March 2014.
