Workforce Education in Duncan, Oklahoma - 360-Degree Video

Duncan Area Economic Development Foundation Communicates Commitment to Education with New 360-Degree Video

Collaboration with Golden Shovel Agency Makes Virtual Meetings with Students and Investors Possible

Duncan, Oklahoma - Thanks to a new 360-degree video launched by the Duncan Area Economic Development Foundation (DAEDF), you can step inside a classroom, technology lab or multi-generational gathering and see firsthand how the Duncan, Oklahoma community has invested in education.

The video, produced by Golden Shovel Agency, allows the viewer to look all around as if they're really standing in the middle of each scene. When experienced with virtual reality goggles, the impact of this immersive experience is intense and the outcome is that the message has a lasting effect, and leads the viewer to another action like scheduling a meeting.

"Education is important to our residents and we know that a skilled workforce is a strategic asset to businesses," said Lyle Roggow, President of DAEDF. "With this virtual reality tool, we can use the kind of technology that appeals to a young audience, and it's also a sign to investors that we're a forward-thinking community."

The power of 360-degree video and virtual reality (VR) is in its ability to stimulate intense brain activity that mimics what happens when you're actually in a new place for the first time. The result is an increase in memory. Traditional media formats generally have a 10% retention rate, but VR has a retention rate of 75%.

"When combined with our virtual meetings app, 360-degree video has even more applications," said Aaron Brossoit, CEO of Golden Shovel Agency. "The DAEDF can meet and engage with people just as though they're together in person. This means that they can promote what they have to offer and not have to worry about travel or restrictions for meeting in person."

The workforce education video is one of five videos that DAEDF has produced with Golden Shovel Agency.

About the Duncan Area Economic Development Foundation

In 1993, the citizens and businesses of Duncan created the Duncan Area Economic Development Foundation (DAEDF) to promote the development of existing businesses, attract new businesses, and diversify Duncan's economic base. By simultaneously building up the local infrastructure, establishing relationships throughout the community and state, and ensuring that there is a well-trained and vital workforce, DAEDF created an attractive business climate. DAEDF has attracted businesses that provide competitive wages and make capital investments in the community, which means they are more likely to remain in the area as long-term employers. www.ok-duncan.com
