Officials in Duncan are looking to recruit some new businesses to the area.

Today, the Duncan Area Economic Development Foundation held the Lieutenant Governor's Turkey Hunt out at Bluff Creek Lodge just east of Duncan.

Fifteen people from across the country, all with different businesses, came out to experience Southwest Oklahoma and decide if this area would be the place for development.

They had the chance to hunt turkey, shoot some skeet, and enjoy some Oklahoma hospitality.

"Some of them have never hunted before, so this is a chance to take something and allow them to experience this, the openness and letting them enjoy the quality of life," said Lyle Roggow with Duncan Area Economic Development Foundation.

Tonight, Lieutenant Governor Todd Lamb will visit with the guests about the opportunities they could bring to the area. The purpose of the Turkey Hunt is to build relationships that could then turn into the recruitment of new businesses.
